G-Power’s Hurricane RS Is An E60 BMW M5 With 740 HP And $89k Asking Price

Miss the old, E60-gen BMW M5 and its roaring V10? In that case, seeing this barely used 2010 M5-based G-Power Hurricane RS model should make your day, especially since it’s for sale.

Still, it costs a pretty penny at 79,500 euros ($88,800) although it’s done only 1,559 km (969 miles) and it looks spotless, as in you’re basically getting a brand new V10-powered modded M5 for less than what you’d spend on a 2020 M5 Sedan.

In case you’d rather have the new M5, that’s understandable, but keep in mind that this is a twin-turbocharged, 750 PS (740 HP) beast that can max out at 367.4 km/h (228.3 mph). Also, the listing claims peak power output is actually 765 PS (754 HP), which might be true, but its original specs say 750 PS. Either way, it’s a lot.

Now, while it may not beat its 2020 counterpart, the 840 PS (828 HP) G-Power G5M Hurricane RS, in acceleration, this E60-based one is actually faster in terms of advertised top speed at 228.3 mph top speed versus the G5M’s 217 mph – though, note that the latter is electronically limited. Heck, it’s more than what you’d get in certain classic hypecars like a Ferrari Enzo or a Jaguar XJ220.

Back in the late 2000s, G-Power CEO Christian Stober believed that the M5’s 5.0-liter V10 engine could handle even more boost, which isn’t at all hard to believe.

So, if you ever end up owning one of these, you can finally tell your friends that in your driveway rests the world’s fastest street-legal sedan from a little over a decade ago, which is when the Hurricane RS stole that title from the Mercedes CLS-based Brabus Rocket.
