26 pictures and videos that take you inside Soha Ali Khan's Mumbai home

From their intimate wedding to husband Kunal Kemmu's 30th birthday bash, Soha Ali Khan's home is full of special memories, and equally beautiful interiors

Soha Ali Khan and husband Kunal Kemmu moved into their current home in Mumbai’s Khar West neighbourhood after tying the knot in early 2015. Located on the top floor of the nine-storeyed Sunder Villa near Linking Road, their apartment combines contemporary and classic styles. In fact, the couple’s wedding venue was this very home, which was designed by interior architect Darshini Shah (affectionately known as Tini among her clients), and gifted to the couple as a wedding present by Khan’s mother, Sharmila Tagore. "Fortunately, we didn’t have to look far for our wedding venue. We had it right there at our doorstep—our home!" Soha Ali Khan revealed to Vogue India. “With Tini's attention to detail, our home came together as a true reflection of our styles, passions and stories. The vibrant yet warm interiors made it the ideal place to exchange our vows.” Khan tells Vogue. Shah echoes Khan's sentiment: “Soha and Kunal wanted their house to be simple, yet exude a classic appeal. No frills, nothing ostentatious… The house turned out to be a perfect amalgamation of their personalities. It’s the right mix of formal yet chill which sets it apart.”

Since their intimate wedding, Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu's house has also become home to a third member—their daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, who was born in September 2017. With its sunny interiors and rustic elements, the trio's home is all about celebrating comfort. What stands out in particular is the couple's love for art, books and heirlooms. Take a virtual tour now!

Step into Soha Ali Khan’s expansive living room

Soha Ali Khan’s spacious and eclectic living room is the perfect spot for large gatherings. It's no surprise then, that for Kemmu's 30th birthday party, the couple decided on an at-home celebration. “The functionality, comfort and spaciousness that the house allowed really came to good use at the time,” the actor-turned-author says. What are the most striking features you'll spot in this area, which also happens to be one of Khan's two favourite spaces in the house? The list includes a Brooklyn-inspired exposed brick wall, and graffiti-style black and red artwork that adds a jolt of colour to the space. These contemporary elements are able to pop easily against the simple beige couches that sit on one side of this area against a dark, wood-panelled wall. Check out the quirky cushions, family photos and black coffee table that complete this spot below.

The other half of Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu's casual living area also doubles up as Inaaya’s spacious play area (there's no missing her doll house, or that multicoloured cushioned mat where she likes to spend time with her parents). The expansive living room also has plenty of space for Kemmu to break into a dance every now and then too, as seen on Khan’s Instagram feed.

Check out Inaaya Naumi Kemmu’s adorable, all-pink nursery

A quick glance at two-and-a-half-year-old Inaaya Naumi Kemmu’s bedroom should tell you that there's a good chance this toddler's favourite colour is pink. Her cosy nursery is a rosy little haven, complete with a carved white cot, topped off with organic pastel pink blankets and cushions, backed by matching wallpaper patterned with trees, owls and foxes. The highlight of this space, however, has to be Inaaya's wooden rocking horse. A deep green checkered lounge chair and dark wooden flooring add an interesting contrast to the otherwise pastel elements in this room.

For meetings and formal get-togethers, Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu spend time with their guests in what looks like a special lounge area. Teal velvet couches and a beautifully woven rug characterise this part of the home. While a lamp perched in one corner wears a rich red velvet shade, a glossy black centre table adds a modern element to the room.

Much like the rest of the house, the formal entertaining room also finds itself peppers with black and white artworks and family photographs. Our favourite happens to be this rarely-seen snapshot of Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu on their wedding day, sitting beside a blue wooden chair in a silver frame.

Join Soha Ali Khan in another favourite home spot, her cosy den

"The den is where we like to lounge around," Khan revealed to Vogue India, when asked to pick her favourite spots at home. "There’s something about wooden tones mixed with soft couches, and that smell of books which makes the den quite a favourite in the house." Elaborating further, Darshini Shah explained, "The den is designed in a way that you can chill, watch movies, put your feet up and unwind." She also revealed that the den was one of the most exciting sections of Khan's home for her to work on.

With its rows and rows of books, the den proves Soha Ali Khan's love for reading, and the corridor that leads to it is a visual testimony to her passion for art. It also happens to look uncannily similar to the pathway full of framed works in Khan's brother Saif Ali Khan's house—which was also designed by Darshini Shah.

How many comfortable lounge chairs can you spot in Soha Ali Khan's house?

Take a virtual tour through Ali Khan's Mumbai apartment and you'll notice that this home seems to include a great collection of tasteful lounge chairs. However, she does seem to have a favourite, as is apparent from her post above—a buttery white Habios rocking chair made of woven cotton and teak wood. Another favourite seater for Khan also seems to be her go-to spot for reading. Nestled next to a row of tall potted plants and floor-to-ceiling windows, this pale blue chair with a fuchsia cushion was the same spot from where Khan recited a narration of her favourite storybook for Save with Stories, an initiative to sustain education for school-going children.

“Being child and pet-friendly, [Ali Khan's apartment] has all the elements of a fuss-free home,” Darshini Shah concludes. “The classic accents give the house a royal feeling, with sturdy interiors to make it contemporary and stylishly young.” Discover more details from this celebrity home below.
