MUMBAI: The cyclone Nisarga, that brought heavy rain and gusty wind to the city, also caused city temperatures to dip significantly over the last two days. The pleasant weather condition with lower temperatures was short-lived, as maximum temperatures were seen rising on Friday, as recorded by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). They have forecast a further rise in temperatures over the weekend.
The maximum temperatures in the city earlier this week hovered around 33-34, which dipped to around 29 on Thursday evening. On Friday, it rose to 31.5 in Colaba, and 34.5 in Santacruz.
Rainfall recorded in the 24 hours June 4-5 was 62mm in Colaba and 53.2mm in Santacruz. The city has already recorded above normal rain for June 1-5. Weathermen said these conditions were due to the remnants of the cyclone. Monsoon is officially expected to set over the city on June 11.
