Rachel shared the incredible transformation on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group
She explained that the couple had been hoping to transform the space for months, but lockdown presented them with the perfect opportunity to finally get the work done.
Rachel revealed: 'We collected things over a few months ready to do it when my husband got chance. Then the country went into lockdown and my husband was suddenly out of work.'
'To keep himself busy, he put all his efforts into renovating the garden whilst I was still working full time for the NHS in my local maternity unit.'
Before the makeover, the garden was filled with clutter, with disused children's toys including a swing-set and a trampoline rusting on the lawn.

Carl dismantled the old shed in order to salvage materials to create a larger cosy snug for the family to enjoy

Carl painted the wooden fence a light blue colour, and crafted the old shed into a luxurious white hideaway for the family to enjoy
But thanks to Carl's hard work and Rachel's help, the family have been able to completely turn their outdoor space around.
The couple threw the old furniture away, with Carl freshening up the look of the space by painting the old fence and decking a soft, light blue.
They installed fake grass over their muddy lawn, and placed a barbecue in one corner and a second-hand hot tub in the other.
Rachel explained: 'We got the hot tub second hand because it was broken.'

After building the new shed and painting the wood work in the garden, Carl was preparing to put the fake grass onto the ground, which he had mowed and covered in weed suppressant roll
'We did our research and managed to find a control board online that was comparable and it worked.
'We gave it a clean up and an paint job and then it was as good as new.'
She added: 'I am a total bargain hunter and spent most of my time looking for bargain on Facebook marketplace and eBay.'
On top of buying new furniture and accessories for their garden, Carl and Rachel also created a larger white shed on the bottom of the garden.
Using material from their old shed, the couple plastered walls and floors to create a cosy snug away from the rest of the house.
Rachel explained how Carl had never plastered a wall before, but did an amazing job painting the shed's walls.
They installed an electrical fireplace, a cosy sofa and cushions with a rug, and a TV to create the living space, tastefully decorating it with fairy lights, curtains and mirrors.
Posting the transformation on Facebook, Rachel said: 'Our budget garden makeover. Everything was either recycled from our old garden or second hand, apart from the egg chair and corner sofa set.

Carl (pictured) plastered the walls himself to paint the new shed, which was entirely made of re-purposed materials, after he lost his job during lockdown

Carl, who had done little DIY work before the epic transformation, took on most of the work himself, cutting costs for the couple

Meanwhile inside the cosy snug, the couple installed a TV and an electric fireplace, as well as a sofa and heater
'I'm totally in love with it,' she added.
People loved the new garden and congratulated Rachel and her and Carl's efforts, with one commenting: 'Wow, amazing transformation.'
'Wow that looks incredible, well done you,' said another.
A third added: 'Wow what a difference, looks amazing.'

Social media users said they loved the new garden and were stunned at how different it looked from Carl and Rachel's old outdoor space
