Sometimes the opportunity just hits you and you feel you are not ready” – Antano Solar John, Co-Founder & CEO Antano & Harini Legacy Accelerators & Co-Creator, Excellence Installation Technology
Could have anyone ever been ready for a global pandemic such as Covid-19? However, looking back, wouldn’t we all find challenges which were presented upon us in the past, and which we were not ready for, yet they turned out as an opportunity for us to grow in certain aspects.
Working from home, social distancing, total lockdown, borders sealed, a major blow to the global and national economy, usage of masks and sanitisers all times and several other factors, are what we are dealing with as of now. This is not an easy time for anyone. The Coronavirus has changed everyone’s lifestyle. Even introverts are getting fed up of the lockdown, not to mention extroverts, who just want it to end as soon as possible. People are bound to exercise at home, some living with their families and some alone. There have been a large number of domestic violence cases and adding to that there is a fear and anxiety that is gripping the world, where each person is scared that he or she might be the next to be tested positive for the Corona.
As of today, the number of cases of the Coronavirus stands at 5,792,989 globally. There have been 357,480 deaths and 2,499,151 recovered worldwide. In India alone there have been 1,58,415 cases, with 4,534 deaths and 67, 749 recovered. As the numbers speak for themselves, it is easily understandable that this deadly pandemic is not going to end soon. With a trial of a large number of vaccines and cures for it to be stabilised by many countries, there hasn’t been a breakthrough. This virus has changed the world by the way it functions.
At a recent webinar, BW Wellbeing presented a discussion on ‘Positivity During a Pandemic’ in association with BW Businessworld & Happy Ho!, where panellists from all walks of life shared their views the same.
Defining it as times of positivity in which we are given an opportunity to introspect, Annurag Batra, Chairman & Editor-in-Chief, BW Businessworld & exchange4media, in his opening statement, adds, “For the first time we have time for ourselves. Better listening leads to better relationships, which leads to better decisions. For example, I was always busy running. This is the first time, when I am so focused.”
On a similar positive note Swamiji Chaitanya Keerti, Mindfulness & Meditation Expert, shares, “This is the best time to bring out the positivity because now we are in a space where we are receptive, open and ready to new ideas. Otherwise, we are always somewhere else, running around, busy and we are not really with ourselves. The lockdown has created a space, where we can open up to new ideas and I am expecting that the lockdown will be a fresh beginning of their lives.”
Sharing his experience, Antano Solar John, Co-Founder & CEO, Antano & Harini Legacy Accelerators & Co-Creator, Excellence Installation Technology, says, “The backstory of how I have been applying our own methods is I have always shared that wherever ‘you are you’, you can evolve to a higher level. When you take a leap of faith, you find yourself flying high. Things keep happening in our life again and again, as and when an opportunity comes by and it is just above your league but with the right guidance, right attitude, when you take on it, it kind of compresses time. Like what you take 5-6 years to learn, you learn it in 6 months.”
This period has been extra busy for Ira Trivedi. The Indian author and Yoga expert says: “It has been a tremendous time for digital growth as we always had yoga classes running offline, but the offline business was a slow one. It wasn’t something I was spending a lot of time doing. We had great grand collaborations and we were in luxury hotels and clubs but very few people would come for that, say just 6-7 person in one class. Everything has made mindfulness, yoga, meditation immensely important, and I have been busy providing these practices online now.”
In order to support our immune system during these challenging times, Junior Anand Gupta, CEO, Cure My Diabetes & Social Activist advises, “With the Coronavirus around, everyone wants better immunity. Amla is loaded with Vitamin C and I would suggest fruits and vegetables everyday. We should drink lemon, carrots, bellpepper, tomato juice everyday. This will give micronutrients to our body. Zinc is crucial as well. I would not suggest supplements as the natural way is better. We can have pumpkin seeds. Having Cashews, Chia seeds, Flaxseeds would be great. Nuts are equally important. Haldi with water is another good thing to have.”
