GURUGRAM: With the number of Covid cases surging in
Gurugram with each passing day, the district administration on Friday formed a 25-member new team that will conduct
contact tracing and sampling of high risk individuals in the city. To deal with the crisis, the administration also roped in HSVP and MCG, and set up a control room at
Gymkhana Club in Sector-29. Gurugram has 1,192 active cases so far, which is the highest in Haryana.
Officials said the new team will be responsible for monitoring of primary health centres for contact tracing and managing rapid response teams. “We are going start contact-tracing exercise from Saturday and a dedicated call centre has been set up at Gymkhana Club. All the team members have been given protective gear,” said HSVP (Gurugram) administrator Jitender Yadav.
Till Friday, the district heath department was the sole in-charge of contract tracing of Covid-9 positive cases. “We are handing over the information of all new
Covid-19 cases to HSVP,” said a health department official.
Estate officer-I of HSVP (Gurugram), Bharat Bhushan Gogia, said that, along with contact tracing, the team will also monitor containment zones. “We will collect data and share the same on a Google sheet with the team members. The sheet will have details related to contacts of positive cases and their travel history. The team will also monitor barricading of containment zones, and ensure downloading of Aarogya Setu app by all residents.”
HSVP employees have been allotted different containment zone for contact tracing of positive cases. “Those at the call centre will call up Covid positive patients and collect details of their family members, place of work and places they had visited in past 14 days,” an official said. “The field team will contact persons who had come in contact with positive persons and they will be categorised as high-risk contact and low-risk contact. Samples of high-risk contacts will be collected,” he added.
