Passport services to resume on Monday

Passport services will resume at Immigration Division offices throughout the country on Monday.

In a release by the Ministry of National Security on Friday, the public was reminded of the changes made to the system in April. These changes are part of the division’s “system upgrade.”

It added that the office at 67 Frederick Street, Port of Spain will be relocated to the Government Campus Plaza, 3-9 Richmond Street from Monday.

“The previous call-in system used to make appointments via telephone number (868) 225-4664, has been discontinued. Passport appointments will now be facilitated online via the website www.ttpassport.info.”

The ministry said those with appointments scheduled for Monday should arrive “no earlier than ten minutes before the scheduled time” in efforts to follow public health recommendations to prevent the spread of covid19.

Those who missed appointments because of the stay-at-home measures between March and May were asked to visit the nearest office from June 15. The process will be based on the alphabetical order of names.

“Mondays: Persons with surnames starting with the letters A to D. Tuesdays: Persons with surnames starting with the letters E to K.

“Wednesdays: Persons with surnames starting with the letters L to Q. Thursdays: Persons with surnames starting with the letters R to T. Fridays: Persons with surnames starting with the letters U to Z.”

Applicants must provide their appointment reference number upon arrival.

The ministry added, “Expedited passport applications will only be facilitated at the Immigration office located at Government Campus Plaza, 3-9 Richmond Street, Port of Spain.

“Persons with queries related to passport services can contact the Immigration Division via email address immigration.passports@gov.tt.”
