Telangana SSC exams postponed in GHMC region; no change in schedule for other parts
TS SSC exams will not be conducted in the GHMC area, said Telangana high court on Saturday.

High court further made it clear that Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Ranga Reddy districts are identified as Covid-19 hotspots and hence can't be allowed to hold exams in the GHMC area. TS SSC exams in the rest of the state can be conducted with precautions.
Earlier, on Friday the high court directed the state to postpone TS SSC exams in the GHMC area in view of Covid-19 fears.
The court further instructed that the government must come up with an answer by Saturday afternoon, failing which it would be forced to stay the entire exam schedule which is to be held from June 8, 2020.
Pointing that the state should be more careful as it concerns the lives of students, a bench of judge Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice B Vijaysen Reddy said the government should display adaptability in respect of these students whose parents don't want to send them out for exams due to Covid-19 fear.
"Those who miss the exams now should be allowed to write the supplementary exams, which are likely to be held in August or September. Their marks memos should show them as regular students and not as ones passed in supplementary exams, which is considered as a stigma," observed the bench, indicating that it would allow the exams with such a condition.
Talking tough, the bench further added that if the government is not ready to provide such flexibility, then the court may have to stay the examinations. It was hearing a PIL filed by M Balakrishna, seeking postponement of the exams.
