JAMMU: Pakistan on Saturday yet again violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control in two sectors of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian side effectively retaliated to the firing. The breach of truce comes two days after a soldier was killed in a similar violation along the LoC in Rajouri district on June 4.
“Around 8pm on Saturday, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and mortar shelling along the LoC in Kirni and Qasba sectors of J&K’s Poonch district,” Jammu-based defence spokesman Lt Col Devender Anand said.
Prior to this, on June 3, Pakistan breached truce along the LoC by resorting to intense unprovoked firing in Kirni sector of Poonch. On June 1, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along the LoC in the district’s Mankote sector.
