PATNA: In a bid to expedite the preparations for upcoming Bihar assembly elections, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan held a video- conferencing session of state working committee of the party. Chirag told the party functionaries to boost the preparations in all 243 assembly segments to ensure the victory of the ruling NDA, comprising JD(U), BJP and LJP.
The video-conferencing meet was attended by altogether 115 out of total 122 members of state working committee of LJP, including party’s state president and Samastipur MP Prince Raj.

“As it looks at present that the assembly elections are likely to be held on the scheduled time (October- November). Our party started the preparations for the polls on all 243 seats in the state from November last and it will benefit other allies as well in NDA. LJP will win the seats contested by its candidates and other allies win the seats contested by their candidates," Chirag said.
He added: "This will enable us to form the next government and succeed in our vision of 'Bihar First, Bihari First'."

Chirag had embarked on 'Bihar First, Bihari First Yatra' on February 21 but it was cancelled around March- mid owing to Covid-19 pandemic. LJP sources claimed that Bihar first, Bihari First Yatra was aimed at linking Bihar with the wheel of development by interacting with people and taking their feedback for framing a vision document.

Chirag, the Lok Sabha MP from Jamui constituency, said on Friday that party has a membership of 31 lakh people in Bihar, which will directly benefit NDA on all seats in the upcoming elections.
State president Prince Raj said that meetings of various committees of the party have been held to review the preparations and issue necessary instructions for the polls. "Initially we were mainly involved in helping migrants but now that situation has slightly eased in this regard, thus we are gradually stepping up our preparations for the upcoming elections. The first round of meetings of various committees concerned has now been completed. Booth level committees have also been reviewed and our preparations are up to the mark," he said.
The party’s state minority cell president Ashraf Ansari said party’s patron and union minister Ram Vilas Paswan has asked party functionaries and workers to make preparations for Bihar assembly polls as scheduled. "IT section of the party has also been asked to buckle up considering the need of digital mediums for campaigning owing to restrictions due to social distancing norms to prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus," he said.
