1,458 fresh Covid-19 cases takes TN’s tally to 30,152

On Saturday, 19 Covid-19 patients died taking the total death toll in the state to 251.

The total number of Coronavirus positive cases in Tamil Nadu on June 6 crossed the 30,000 mark after 1,458 were infected today to take the tally to 30,152.

On Saturday, 633 persons were discharged after treatment taking the total number of recovered persons from the virus to 16,395. This leaves the active cases in the State at 13,503.

In Chennai alone 1,146 persons were infected today increasing the total affected to 20,993. At a distant second was Chengalpattu with 95 cases (total 1,719); Tiruvallur with 79 (1,274); Kancheepuram with 16 (500) and the rest split among other districts, including Thoothukudi.

On Saturday, 19 Covid-19 patients died to take the total death toll in the state to 251.

A total of 16,022 samples were tested today, says a Health ministry bulletin.
