Pune: Pune district on Thursday reported around 243 new patients of coronavirus with 12 deaths taking the tally to 8,717. Around 2,914 cases undergoing treatment at various government and private hospitals in the Pune district. With 12 deaths on Thursday, the total number of deaths now stands 391.
According to the district health department, 193 cases were reported in the city followed by 35 from Pimpri-Chinchwad area, 3 from rural and 12 from civil surgeon and cantonment board area.
In Pune division total 6,241 infected patients recovered and have been discharged. The number of COVID-19 infected patients in the division has now reached to 11,086. Still there are 4,334 active patients of pandemic and a total of 511 have lost their lives while 238 patients are critical said Divisional Commissioner Dr Deepak Mhaisekar in Pune.
On Thursday, Dr Mhaisekar along with Pune District Collector Naval Kishore Ram along, Pune Police Commissioner Dr K Venkatesham informed.
Talking about Pune district, total 8,604 patients were infected of which 5,203 patients have been recovered but still there are 3,018 are active cases. 383 patients have succumbed to the virus whereas 215 patients are quarantine.
The total number of infected patients in Pune division has increased by 382 as compared to Wednesday, which includes 301 patients from Pune district, nine from Satara, 55 from Solapur, two from Sangli district and 15 from Kolhapur district.
There are 578 patients in Satara district and 223 infected patients have recovered with active cases standing at 331. A total of 24 patients have died in Satara.
In Solapur district, there are 1,135 patients and 476 infected patients have recovered and gone home. The number of active patients is 565. A total of 94 patients infected with the virus have died.
In Sangli district, there are 124 patients whereas 70 infected patients have recovered so far. The number of active patients in Sangli now stands at 50. A total of four patients infected have died.
