YAMUNANAGAR:
Haryana education minister
Kanwar Pal said on Friday said schools in the state must open soon for students to complete their syllabus.
When asked about Covid-19 risk involved in opening the schools, Kanwar said, “Undoubtedly, there is risk involved, but we cannot sit at home due to fear of coronavirus. The world will move on and for the time being, the virus will also stay. As of now, there is no estimate as to when the outbreak is going to end. So, we should start schools after following all the norms, precautions and maintaining social distancing. We have to start at some point and fight against this disease. The factories and markets have opened and the schools will also open soon.”
Giving details about starting schools, Kanwar said, “We will start with Class X, XI, and XII most probably in July, as the students in these classes are young and sensible. After opening the schools, problems and flaws will be identified and will be rectified. One decision is to call 50% students of a class in two shifts i.e. in morning and evening. The second decision is to call 50% of students of a class on one day and rest 50% on the second day. Some schools have been identified for starting demonstration classes under these two decisions, and whichever decision receives a positive response will be implemented in the entire state.”
