GPSC to conduct CBRT to fill more than 200 posts

Stating that the Goa Public Service Commission is all set to initiate the process to fill large number of government posts once the ongoing lockdown measures are lifted, the GPSC chairman, Jose Manuel Noronha, on Friday, said that the Commission would be conducting a Computer-Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) to fill more than 200 posts.

“The Goa Public Service Commission, from January 2020 to May 2020 had advertised a large number of positions in government sector, mainly in higher education, civil aviation, health services, dental college, medical college, mines and geology, skill training, animal husbandry and veterinary services, agriculture and so on,” the GPSC chairman told ‘The Navhind Times’, adding that a total of 233 posts have been advertised by the GPSC and almost 6,500 applications received for these positions.

“The Commission subjects all applicants to a CBRT so as to shortlist the candidates for an interview,” he stated, pointing out, “However with the lockdown in force and with colleges closed, these examinations cannot be conducted till the colleges are permitted to commence their academic activities.” 

The CBRT is conducted in the computer laboratories of these colleges.

The Commission has received more than 3,600 applications for 22 junior scale officer posts. Besides the Commission has advertised the posts of agricultural officers for the fourth time and received 125 applications for 9 posts.

“There are 28 positions in Goa Dental College, for which almost 250 applications have been received, while 1,500 applications have been received for 75 posts of assistant professor in various disciplines at the directorate of higher education,” Noronha informed, adding that for the 3 positions of junior scientific officer in the Food and Drugs Administration, more than 125 applications have been received.

It was also informed that no applications have been received for the posts of radiologist, assistant professor in neurology and the principal of the Goa College of Music, whereas 38 applications have been received for the 2 positions of geologist in the department of mines and geology, and 70 applications for the post of the principal of the Industrial Training Institute.

The post of assistant director of education has been advertised for the second time as at the last interview, no candidate was found suitable for this position, and 27 applications have been received this time, for the same.
