The heavy civil infrastructure business of L&T Construction has bagged an order from the Irrigation and Command Area Development Department (I&CAD), Government of Telangana.
This department is undertaking the Sita Rama Lift Irrigation scheme to irrigate an area of about 9.36 lakh acres in the districts of Khammam, Kothagudem and Mahabubabad. The size of this contract is in the range of ₹2,500-5,000 crore, L&T said in a statement.
The purpose of the project is to augment the storage capacity of the Dummugudem Anicut by raising the pond level and converting it into a barrage with storage capacity of 36.57 TMC, the company added.
