Horrific video shows Denver police shooting pepper balls at a driver stopped in the middle of the road who had his pregnant girlfriend in the passenger seat. 

The viral video has been heavily circulated across social media, including in a passionate Thursday post by Democrat Julian Castro.

In the brief clip, the black man can be heard screaming at the police for shooting his car with his pregnant girlfriend inside.

He dares the cops to shoot at him, cursing at them for shooting gas into the vehicle. 

His girlfriend can be seen in the passenger seat but she reclines once they start shooting again.

'We recognize, we acknowledge that we always haven't gotten it right, but we will work together with our community to do it better in the future,' Pazen said, KDVR reports.

'If that means identifying folks within our department that don't adhere to our policy and values, then it's incumbent that we hold them accountable and do something about it.'

Many have slammed police departments across the country for their handling of the protests and demonstrations that have taken over the United States, as protesters demand justice for George Floyd and police brutality.
