The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday announced the revised programmes of examinations/recruitment tests.

According to the new schedule, the Civil Services (Preliminarily) Exam will take place on October 4, 2020. The Civil Services (Main) Exam, 2020 will be held on January 8, 2021.

“The UPSC held a special meeting to review the prevailing situation due to Covid-19. Taking notice of the opening of lockdown and progressive relaxations being announced by the Central government and various States, the Commission decided to issue a revised schedule of examinations/recruitment tests (RTs),” said the official release.

The Commission also decided to resume personality tests for the remaining candidates of Civil Services Examination 2019 from July 20, 2020. Candidates will be informed individually, it added.

RTs for the posts of EO/AO in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, earlier scheduled for October 4, have been deferred. The new date will be published on the UPSC website at the time of issue of calendar of examinations/RTs for 2021.

Earlier, the UPSC had announced that the date for this year’s civil services preliminary examination would likely be decided on June 5. The test, that was scheduled for May 31, was deferred due to the lockdown.
