No earthquake reported in and around Hampi, says Ballari deputy commissioner

BALLARI: Following reports that mild intensity earthquake hit world heritage site Hampi on Friday early morning, Ballari deputy commissioner SS Nakul clarified that no observatory recorded an earthquake after obtaining data from Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Centre (KSNDMC).
People surrounding Hampi and Hospete panicked after hearing about a mild intensity earthquake in and around Hampi. But deputy commissioner Nakul was quick to allay fears and made clear that no earthquake took place.
