Representative imageHUBBALLI: As many as nine patients affected by Covid-19 were completely cured and discharged from the Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) on Friday. This is for the first time that at one go, nine patients were discharged from the hospital.
P-970, a 62-year-old male returned from Gujarat was admitted at the GIMS on May 14, P-1566, a 32-year-old male returned from Mumbai tested positive to the infection and he was admitted on May 21.
Secondary contacts of P-913 discharged
The Gadag city reported Covid cases from Ganji Basaveshwar Circle area, after seven patients contracted the disease from P-913, all these seven were cured and discharged from the hospital.
The patients are P-1932, 50-year-old female, P-1933, a 19- year-old girl, P-1934, a 22-year-old lady, P-1935, 18-year-old male, P-1936, a 48-year-old male, P-1937, an eight-year-old girl, P-1938, a 21-year-old male.
All the seven patients were admitted on May 23. Throat swabs of the nine patients have tested again June 4 and they tested negative to the infection, said GIMS Director Dr PS Bhusaraddi.
The patients have been advised to remain in house isolation for the next 14 days and they were suggested to contact the doctors if they develop any health issues.
