An Australian mother has invented a four-ingredient Rocky Road pie that is taking the internet by storm, and you only need a $29 pie maker to make them.

Samantha Tolley, who runs the Addicted to Bargains social media pages, shared images of the creation on Thursday, causing a stir among fans of the marshmallow dessert.

'I've been cooking up a storm and I had to share with you what I've done recently,' Samantha wrote.

'I've made Rocky Road Pies using my $29 Mistral Pie Maker from Woolworths. You only need four ingredients and it takes less than 10 minutes.'

The promise of a quick and easy-to-make treat caught the attention of her followers, who eagerly asked about the ingredients.

She explained that it's as simple as lining the pie maker with puff pastry before placing Cadbury Freddo Frogs, marshmallows and chocolate raspberries inside.

She started by lining the pie maker with puff pastry before placing Cadbury Freddo Frogs, marshmallows and chocolate raspberries inside

Then she placed another layer of puff pastry as a 'lid' on top and closed the pie maker lid for six minutes.

What was produced was a deliciously gooey take on the traditional Rocky Road chocolate.

And her followers immediately began making plans to start preparing them at home.  

HOW TO MAKE ROCKY ROAD PIES:

Ingredients: 

Puff Pastry

Freddos

Marshmallows

Choc Raspberries 

Method:

1. Cut out puff pastry with pie cutters

2. Put base pastry in pie maker

3. Add Freddo, Marshmallows and Choc Raspberries to pastry

4. Add top pastry to seal (press down with a fork)

5. Cook for 5-6 minutes

'So usually I scroll past recipes but then I saw the marshmallow and chocolate and now you have my FULL attention,' one person said.

'Yummy! I might need to get myself a pie maker, didn't know it made pies like this,' said another.

A third tagged her friend and wrote: 'You need to make the Rocky Road ones on your next few days off! And then Snapchat me how amazing they are'.
