UPSC 2020 Civil Services Prelims Exam Date to be released today - Check latest updates
The UPSC prelims exam date will be released on the official UPSC website - https://www.upsc.gov.in/. The date for UPSC Forest Services Prelims exam would also be released today.

NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission is likely to release the date for the UPSC Civil Services Prelims exam 2020 today i.e., on Friday, June 5, 2020.
The UPSC prelims exam date will be released on the official UPSC website - https://www.upsc.gov.in/. The date for UPSC Forest Services Prelims exam would also be released today.
Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 2, 2020 but it was postponed indefinitely due to Covid-19 lockdown, while in the very first schedule it was to be conducted on May 31, 2020 but was postponed to June 2 as the first lockdown was supposed to be lifted on May 31. Subsequently the central govt kept extending the lockdown to contain the Coronavirus epidemic in the country.
Like every year, around 10 lakh candidates have registered for the Civil Services Preliminary examination this year too. The UPSC invites applications in the month of January/February. Candidates are asked to fill up the application form up to March and the preliminary examination is conducted in the months of April/May while the Main examination is conducted in June.
The UPSC had earlier also postponed the exams in 2013, 14, 15 and 16.
The eligible candidates will be issued an e-Admit Card before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admit Card will be made available in the UPSC website - https://upsconline.nic.in - for downloading by candidates. No Admit Card will be sent by post.
Candidates should note that there will be penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their applications, candidature etc. candidates can contact UPSC's Facilitation Counter near gate 'C' of its campus in person or over Telephone No. 011-23385271/011-23381125/011-23098543 on working days between 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs.
