It is very hot these days. But still I need to go out to complete deliveries. Besides, we wear helmets, so it’s okay. I am not too worried about the safety aspect as am taking all precautions. The virus spreads when you meet a lot of people. My job is one where you go out alone all the time. I also don’t talk too much with other delivery agents. I just go to the shop, pick up the order, and then drop it off. Around 75 per cent of the time, I deliver items to the security guards. I try not to go into buildings because then we have to take the lift and sometimes I might be around someone. But I am proud of the work I’m doing. The other day, I delivered a packet to a handicapped man, whose family was too hesitant to drop off food at his place. I delivered it to his house and he thanked me for it so genuinely. I also get to deliver medicine and other essentials to those who really need it, so I feel proud. My husband also works in delivery services.

My mother has been taking care of the kids in the meantime. They’re so happy because they don’t have to go to school, and they get to play on the phone and watch TV all day. We’ve been playing Ludo together. My son is so good at it. He’s been beating the whole family easily. As parents, we want to spend more time with our children. They’re also taking classes online and my son showed interest for maybe four days. Earlier, we thought we wouldn’t have a job. But now, aside from a few streets that are locked down, we aren’t facing many problems. Yes, the number of deliveries have gone down but it’s better to have some money than have none. Now, we also don’t have the headache of rent and loans, and so I feel better.
