FALL RIVER -- A rally at Heritage State Park is underway to protest last week's killing of George Floyd, a black man who was killed by white police officers in Minneapolis.

The rally, which was set to start at noon, was sparsely attended as it got underway.

Fall River police had set up at the park about an hour before the rally was scheduled to begin. They handed out masks to protestors before the rally.

A handful of protesters could be seen holding signs reading "Black Lives Matter" and "Defund The Police."

Another rally in the city originally scheduled for Saturday at Lafayette Park has been postponed.
