Share market update: PSU bank shares gain; IOB jumps 8%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading with gains in Thursday's session.

Shares of Indian Overseas Bank (up 7.98 per cent) , Punjab & Sind Bank (up 5.5 per cent) , Union Bank of India (up 3.41 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (up 1.98 per cent) , J & K Bank (up 1.95 per cent) , Central Bank of India (up 0.63 per cent) , Indian Bank (up 0.61 per cent) and Bank of India (up 0.25 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.15 per cent up at 1286.4 around 02:13PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 63.90 points at 9997.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 233.92 points at 33875.62.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, Trident Ltd, SBI, Tata Power, Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, BHEL and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
