AURANGABAD: The residents of Aurangabad had come together to donate blood as the blood banks in the city need sufficient blood to treat patients.
In an initiative taken by the residents of 50 Greens and 108 Greens on Beed Bypass, pathologist Jyoti Bipin Miniyar conducted a blood donation camp on Saturday.
They collected 21 bottles of blood while ensuring the use of masks, sanitisers and maintaining social distancing. Vivek Dhanuka, one of the residents who donated blood in the drive, said that the initiative was aimed at raising public awareness that blood banks need sufficient blood stalk. The blood camp was organised with the help of Dattaji Bhale Blood Bank.
The divisional blood bank at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) said that they have got sufficient blood storage on Monday. The bank has been receiving blood through the blood donation camps being held by Shiv Sena.
On June 1, a mega blood donation camp was held by the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation in Hudco N-12, Swami Vivekananda Nagar on Monday. Shiv Sena corporator Seema Kharat had facilitated the camp.
