YEIDA to build connecting road to airport site

Greater Noida: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has finalised the plan to build a 600-metre-long road that would be used for the movement of heavy vehicles during the construction of the Jewar international airport.
The road is part of the concessionaire agreement that is yet to be inked between Noida International Airport Limited and Zurich AG. It would link the airport site with the existing 60-metre-long carriageway that runs parallel to Yamuna Expressway.
The parallel road connects the sector being planned by the authority to develop its township. It would be linked further to the airport site in the months to come.
Officiating additional CEO of YEIDA, Shailendra Bhatia, said that the proposal to construct the road was approved by senior officials. “The tender is being finalised and would be floated for bidding within the next fortnight,” he said.
During the bidding of airport, the authority had assured of linking the airport site with a wide road to Yamuna Expressway in order to facilitate construction work at the site.
