Meeting...council members applauded the people of utica for being one of the only cities that held protests..that did ((not(( become violent.
Protests did turn violent in buffalo, rochester, syracuse, albany, and new york city.
Here in utica.... it was peaceful.
Utica city council at large jack lomedico was at this weekend's protest.
"(i would) like to complement the people, as well as the security forces that were there.
I have a t- shirt that says utica the city of virtue.
And i think the city was a city of virtue then.
They showed courage and bravery and not falling in line with some of these crazy people that are destroying the good work that everyone else has put together in trying to create these well deserved protests."
Lomedico said those who attended the protests did it in style, showing the pride of the city of utica.
