Maharashtra: Ambernath records over 200 patients in a week with 73 new patients in 24 hours

AMBERNATH: In the highest 24-hour spike, Ambernath region in Thane district, having total population of around 3.5 lakh recorded 73 new Covid-19 positive cases on Thursday. With 73 new patients, the count of infected people has reached 287 in city and virus toll has risen to 7. Last time on May 31 the city recorded highest 35 patients in 24 hours.
If Ambernath Municipal Council is to be believed then maximum 20 patients were reported from Vandrapada area out of total 73.
The Ambernath till May 27 had only 85 patients. However within a week city has witnessed over 200 patients. Within a week, the number of patients has increased three times.
On 28 May, 18 patients were found, 11 patients on 29 May, 17 patients on 30 May, 35 patients on 31 May, 22 patients on 1 June, 20 patients on 2 June, 6 patients on 3 June and today (Thursday) 73 patients have been found.
With patients' numbers rising in region, the citizens are now demanding to built 500 beds Covid-19 hospital on urgent basis, the work of which going on in to city based dental college.
Anotherside, on Thursday some relieving news came from neighbouring Kalyan-Dombivli city where in last 24 hours the city recorded only 47 new Covid-19 patients taking total 1,272 patients in region including 34 death so far.
On Thursday 10 patients got discharged from different hospitals in Kalyan-Dombivli and remaining 643 active patients are still taking treatment at different hospitals.
