A lot of service providers have launched competitive prepaid plans at Rs 251 and the newest one to launch a Rs 251 plan is MTNL. The plan offers data benefits, calling benefits and comes with a validity of 28 days. One thing to note is that unlike others, who under the name of “unlimited calling” limit the calling to 250 minutes per day, the MTNL plan gives users truly unlimited calling. The listing of the plan reads, “Truly Unlimited Free Local & STD calls from Home & National Roaming”. This means that there is no limit on the minutes of call you make in a day. The data limit with this plan is a little low at 1GB per day and after the data cap is reached, users will be charged 3p/10 kb. There is no mention of the speed dropping, so it is possible, the speed of data transfer won't drop, but charges will apply.
As the name suggests, the MTNL plan is priced at Rs 251 and brings with it the validity of 28 days. Users also get access to 1GB of data per day. If you think this is on the lower side, then know that there are other plans from MTNL that bring with them more data, but their validity and calling benefits change. Coming back to the plan at hand, users also get access to a 100 SMS daily limit. When it comes to calling, the plan offers truly unlimited calling. This means that there is no limit on the number of minutes you can talk in a day. Some plans give users access to 250 minutes, per day. But on the MTNL website, the service provider says, “Truly Unlimited Free Local & STD calls from Home & National Roaming N/w”. This means that whether you are in your home circle, or roaming the country, you will be able to make local and roaming calls for free when subscribed to this pack.
MTNL has packs with data ranging from 750MB going up to 5GB per day and you can check out their details here.
Vodafone, Airtel, and Jio have Rs 251 prepaid plans offering data and calling benefits. If you are subscribed to more than one telecom operator, you can check out the various benefits before choosing a plan. BSNL, on the other hand, has a Rs 365 plan that brings with it validity for 1 year, but benefits for 60 days only. You can check out the details of the plan here. BSNL also has a Rs 2399 plan that brings with it 600 days validity and you can read more about it here.
