Representative imageGREATER NOIDA: A bouncer and a security head of Panchsheel Greens 1 society have been arrested for allegedly trying to enter a flat with a pistol in a newly constructed tower to install prepaid meters on Tuesday.
Police said the CEO and general manager (civil) of the real estate company have also been booked in the case.
Residents alleged that bouncer Rohit and security head Jitendra Singh forcefully entered the flat in tower F of the society located in Sector 16 B of Noida Extension and misbehaved with two women living there. “The entire tower has 29 floors and 232 flats. However, most of them do not have prepaid meters installed and the old postpaid meters are functioning here. Since the capacity of the generator installed here is only 250 KW which is not enough for all the families staying here, this leads to a tripping problem in summers as people run air conditioners and other appliances,” Vikas Kumar, the president of apartment owners association told TOI.
He added that the residents were demanding that before replacing the postpaid meters the prepaid ones, the builder completes other necessary amenities, including the provision of an intercom in all the flats and installation of CCTV cameras here. “On Tuesday, the bouncer and the security head arrived at one of the flats and tried to install a prepaid meter but the residents protested against the move. The security head was carrying a pistol with him and two female residents alleged that they were manhandled by them,” he said.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media where angry residents can be seen gheraoing Jitendra and two women alleging that he shoved a pistol at them. Subsequently, a group of residents went to Bisrakh police station to file a complaint in the case.
When contacted Harish Chander, the DCP of central Noida Harish Chander, he said the builder’s side has denied the allegations. Police also started the procedure to suspend Jitendra’s arms licence.
