The number of
Covid positive cases in India rose by 9,304 in the past 24 hours to reach 2,16,919, latest data from Union Health ministry showed.
As per the update at 8 am, the number of the dead is now 6,075, a jump of 260 since the last update. This is the sixth consecutive day of the country reporting more than 200 deaths.
According to an analysis of two 15-day periods from May 7 to June 1, the positivity rate for Covid doubled in Delhi.
The rate continued to be high in Maharashtra and slowed in Gujarat during the period under review.
With 1,04,107 people discharged/cured so far, the recovery rate in India reached a high 49.6%.
