Surat: Major fire breaks out in plastic packaging company in Sachin GIDC

SURAT: A major fire broke out in the plastic packaging unit located in the diamond park of Sachin GIDC in Gujarat's Surat on Thursday night. No casualty has been reported in the incident.
Sources in the fire and emergency department of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) said that the fire broke out in Akash Packaging at about 8.30am. The fire broke out due to short circuit and that there was no presence of humans during the incident.

Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Basant Pareek told TOI, “About three fire tenders were deployed at the spot and that fire has been brought under control. No casualty have been report”
Pareek added, “The unit is making packaging material for the chemical companies and that the fire broke out due to short circuit”.
