Official sources in AHSEC said that a proposal has been sent to the state government, stating that the board is ready to declare the results during the aforementioned time-frame. However, it said that an official declaration on the result date is expected from state education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma soon.

AHSEC officials said that though effort was on to announce the results even before this year, delay in evaluation of answer scripts due to the lockdown has delayed the declaration of class 12 boards results in Assam almost by a month this year. Earlier in April, AHSEC had decided to allow all Class 11 students studying in institutions affiliated to it to be promoted to class 12 without a final examination. The class 11 final examination, conducted by the AHSEC, was scheduled to begin from March 25. However, the board had to cancel its plans to conduct the exam due to the prolonged lockdown.
The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (Seba) has already announced that it will declare the results of class 10 state board exam at 9 am on June 6.
