NEW DELHI: Delhi government on Wednesday made testing mandatory only for symptomatic patients. So far, Delhi and other states have followed Indian Council of Medical Research guidelines, which allow asymptomatic direct contacts of Covid-19 patients to be tested.
In the new guidelines, Director General of Health Services says private and government diagnostic facilities would test, “Direct and high risk contacts of a confirmed case to be tested once between day 5 and day 10 of coming into contact with a confirmed case”.
ICMR guidelines earlier said: “Asymptomatic direct and high risk contacts of a confirmed case to be tested once between day 5 and day 10 of coming into contact with a confirmed case”.
