Cancellation of trains: Railways to refund full amount at Chennai reservation counters starting June 5

CHENNAI: Railways will issue refund for tickets in trains cancelled from March 22 to June 30 on account of Covid-19.
Passengers can avail the refund at reservation counters at MGR Chennai Central, Chennai Egmore, Chennai Beach, Thirumailai, Mambalam, St Thomas Mount, Tambaram, Chengalpet, Tindivanam, Perambur, Avadi, Tiruvallur, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Wallajah Road, Ambur, Gudiyatham, Vaniyambadi, Jolarpettai from 10am to 5pm.
In a bid to avoid crowding at the counters, refunds will be issued in a staggered manner.
Refunds will be issued for trains till March 31 on June 5 onwards; for trains from April 1 to 14 on June 12 onwards; for trains from April 15 to 30 on June 19 onwards; for trains from May 1 to 15 on June 26 onwards; for trains from May 16 to 31 on July 3 onwards and for trains from June 1 to 30 on July 10 onwards.
Railways said 100% refund would be available for counter tickets booked for trains, which were cancelled after March 22. The full refund will be available for 180 days from the date of journey.
