Stabbing at Chinese primary school injures 40

Beijing: More than 40 students and staff members have been injured in a stabbing at a primary school in south China.

The attack occurred at a school in the city of Wuzhou in the Guangxi autonomous region, the Global Times reported on Twitter.

The suspect is a 50-year-old man who works as a security guard at the school. He has been apprehended by police.

Those injured included the school principal and another security guard.

Videos posted on social media show children with bandages walking out or being carried out of a health centre, where a crowd has gathered.
