Melanie Lewis, 29, from Melbourne, tipped the scales at 108.9 kilograms and could barely walk around the park 'without getting out of breath' when she knew something had to change.
After she gave birth to her first child, Melanie decided she had to do something about it - and within 12 months, she had dropped 35 kilos and completely changed her physique.
'I'm the lightest I've been in my adult life,' Melanie told the leading Australian weight loss program The Healthy Mummy.
Since then, Melanie has had two more kids, lost a total of 42 kilograms, and more importantly, she has kept it off and developed healthy habits for life.

Melanie said how she lost the staggering amount of weight is 'simple - just hard work and dedication'.
Instead of eating fast food and soft drinks, she started to follow a keto diet filled with plenty of stir fries, leafy green veg, meat and avocado.
'A typical breakfast is fried eggs, bacon and avocado and a smoothie with water, low carb almond milk, strawberries, protein powder, smoothie mix, chia seeds and spinach,' she said.
At lunchtime, Melanie said she often eats roast chicken with baby cucumbers and sliced-up cheese.
'Dinner now is something like beef stir fry with green beans topped on a green salad with a Healthy Mummy chocolate berry smoothie tweaked to make it keto-friendly,' Melanie said.
She also eats lots of air-fried meals, including chicken cooked in the air fryer with brown rice, broccolini and green beans.

She married her keto diet with two or three runs a week that have slowly and steadily built up in distance and time, as well as gym sessions with weights (pictured)

As well as the keto diet, Melanie said she does two or three runs a week and group fitness cardio boxing sessions (pictured throughout her weight loss journey)

Melanie said she can now run five kilometres without stopping, as well as do 10 burpees in a row and play with her children.
'When I got pregnant with my second child I weighed 73 kilos, but I was determined not to put on weight so I ended up working out until I was 38 weeks along,' she said.
During the entire pregnancy, she only gained 25 kilograms - and once she gave birth, Melanie said she got even lighter by getting back into her regular boot camp sessions and runs.
'I feel as though I've got my life back [by losing the weight],' Melanie said.
'I can now play with my little girl, which I would never have been able to do when I was over 100 kilos.'

Speaking about her tips for other people, Melanie said the most important thing is that you remain honest - both with yourself and with other people (pictured before and after)
Speaking about her tips for other people, Melanie said the most important thing is that you remain honest - both with yourself and with other people.
'Yes I still have treats but I balance out the treats and don't eat them every single day like I used to,' she said.
'You have to be 110 per cent committed that you want to make a change for yourself if you think you want to change.'
