Coronavirus LIVE updates: India on Thursday recorded its biggest spike in the number of coronavirus cases, with 9,304 of them being reported in a single day, besides over 250 deaths. The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country stands at 218,437, and as many as 6,104 have died of the infection so far.
A total of 3,804 Covid-19 patients have been cured in the last 24 hours, said Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Thursday. The recovery rate is 47.99 per cent amongst Covid-19 patients, according to the government.
Mumbai on Wednesday escaped the worst of Cyclone Nisarga but its battle on the Covid-19 front continues. The city registered 1,117 fresh cases of coronavirus, taking the tally of active cases in the city to 23,629. Five most affected states by total tally of cases are Maharashtra (75,000), Tamil Nadu (27,256), Delhi (23,645), Gujarat (18,100), and Rajasthan (9,652)
