Hyderabad: Pregnant woman hangs herself

HYDERABAD: A three-month pregnant woman committed suicide allegedly due to the harassment of her husband in Malkajgiri here on Tuesday evening. She used her chunni to hang herself.
Malkajgiri police said that Meharaj Bhanu, 28, had a love marriage with Sai Charan a few months ago. According to a complaint lodged, Charan who is unemployed had been harassing her demanding her for money.
Around 7.30pm on Tuesday, Meharaj Bhanu’s family got a call from her neighours informing that she had committed suicide.
A case was registered under section 498 a (domestic violence) and 306 (abetment to suicide) of the IPC. Police said that Charan will be taken into custody and action will be initiated against him.
In an another case at KPHB, a married woman Venkat Lakshmi hanged herself on Tuesday for reasons unknown. The woman had been residing with her parents along with her lone child. She separated herself from her husband few years ago, since he and her in-laws were allegedly harassing her. On Tuesday, in the absence of her parents, she hanged herself.
