The disturbing stash of child porn belonging to an elite Sydney school's swimming teacher was uncovered after a colleague picked up his lost phone.
Nick Warby, 31, the head of aquatic sports at Knox Grammar School pleaded guilty to possessing thousands of child abuse photos and videos.
Warby had accidentally left his phone near a campus pool while getting changed for a promotional video for the school in August last year.
A colleague who found the device then searched through the phone to try and identify the owner before stumbling across the horrific child abuse material.

The phone along with two other mobiles and two USB sticks were seized by police from Warby's car and Bayview home.
Among the disturbing images on Warby's phone was one photo of a man sexually assaulting a baby as young as two years old, The Daily Telegraph reported.

'I've done wrong … I'm ashamed and I'm going to cop the punishment,' Warby told police after his arrest last year according to agreed facts.
The 31-year-old also told police he was attracted to males younger than him and some of the child abuse material had been given to him by a man who he met on dating app Grindr.

Knox Grammar, a $33,000-a-year private all boys school, assured parents none of the material were related to students.
Warby had more than 3,400 photos and videos of child abuse material and used a fake Instagram account to look at boys in swimwear, the ABC reported.
He also downloaded videos of boys swimming from YouTube.
Warby pleaded guilty to one count of possessing child abuse material and will be sentenced in September. He faced up to ten years in jail.
