State reports 267 new positive Covid cases
Karnataka is exploring the possibility of imposing lockdown of a particular house of the Covid-19 affected persons instead of sealing entire colonies.
“We are exploring this new lockdown measures and will take it up before a high power committee on Covid-19 to find out the possibility,” said Karnataka Medical Education Minister K Sudhakhar.
Talking to reporters after reviewing the Udupi district’s prevailing Covid situation, the minister said,the concept of declaring containment zones has changed in the last two months. From declaring an entire area, it has been brought down to sealing a street, he said.
Mangalore airport
Following the arrival of regular flights to Mangalore Airport, Sudhakar said the ICMR prescribed guidelines for the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru would be made mandatory to Mangalore airport too. An order to this effect would be dispatched to the district administration concerned to implement the guidelines strictly. According to ICMR guidelines, travellers have to produce negative report for Corona obtained just two days before date of journey.
The state reported 267 new positive Covid cases on Wednesday. This takes the total tally to 4,063. Total discharged stood at 1,514, total active cases is 2,494 and total death 55.
Of the 267 new cases reported in state, 250 were associated with persons who have travelled Maharashtra, Bihar, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Delhi.
