Car overturns on Yamuna expressway, 1 dies

Greater Noida: A 45-year-old man died after a Maruti Brezza car in which he was riding along with his family and a driver allegedly overturned near Salarpur village at Yamuna Expressway on Tuesday.
The deceased Netra Mani Tripathi, a north Delhi resident, working in an event management company, was going to his hometown in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh along with his wife Rekha, daughter Anshik (14), son Shreyansh (10) and a driver Narendra Shukla to pay homage to his grandmother who passed away recently, said police.
“The relatives said the family left from their home around 12am,” said Dinesh Singh, the sub-inspector ar Dankaur police station.
Cops suspect the driver must have dozed off when the accident took place around 1.30am.
The car bearing registration number MH 31 FE 6542 ran over the divider and overturned. Police received the information about the alleged accident from a passerby and rushed the occupants to Kailash Hospital where Netra was declared dead on arrival while his wife and driver were admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital.
Singh said Netra was sitting beside the driver while his wife was in the back seat.
“The car overturned to its left due to which the couple was grievously injured. All four windows of the car were shattered due to the impact which caused abrasions to those sitting inside,” he said, adding that Netra succumbed to the injuries on his way to the hospital while his wife is getting treated for a major head injury.
“The driver is also admitted in the ICU, however, doctors have ruled out any danger. The two children also received bruises,” said the police officer.
Since no complaint of any foul play was filed, no FIR has been lodged in the case, said Singh.
