Hotels in the area are closed due to the coronavirus-induced lockdownDHARAMSHALA: A 34-year-old woman from South Korea landed in Dharamsala on a Spicejet flight on Wednesday in search of her friend, putting the authorities here in the soup as hotels in the area are closed due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown and they are confused as to where to accommodate her.
The tourist had told the district authorities that she had come to Mcleodganj to find her friend who has been staying there since the lockdown was announced in India.
However, the district authorities failed to locate the friend of the Korean tourist in Mcleodganj. She was accommodated in Dharamsala circuit house and would be sent back to Delhi through a Spicejet flight on Thursday.
Deputy commissioner Kangra, Rakesh Parjapati when contacted said that the airlines had been requested for return ticket of Korean tourist tomorrow. As no hotel was open in Dharamsala region she was housed in the government rest house, he said.
