HYDERABAD: A farmer bludgeoned his father to death at a village in Rudrur mandal of Nizamabad district suspecting that the latter had an affair with a family member.
The accused was G Gangadhar, 28, a farmer from Ambem R village of Rudrur mandal of Nizamabad district. On Tuesday night, Gangadhar, with the assistance of his mother Sayavva, bludgeoned his father, G Gangaram, 58, to death at their cattle shed near the village.
According to Rudrur Inspector, Y Ashok Reddy, the incident happened at around 11pm on Tuesday. "Gangaram went to cattle shed abutting Nizamsagar canal near Ambem R village on Tuesday night and slept there. At around 11 pm, his son Gangadhar went there along with his mother Sayavva. Without any provocation, Gangadhar attacked his father on the head with a stick and killed him on the spot," the inspector said.
After killing Gangaram, his son placed the body on the cot at the shed and left the place with his mother. "The accused informed the locals about the murder on Wednesday morning and fled from the place," the inspector said.
Police shifted the body for postmortem and registered a murder case under section 302 of the IPC. "During the preliminary probe, we came to know that 10 days ago, Gangadhar's wife went to her parent's house after he picked up an argument with her alleging that she had an affair with Gangaram. We suspect that Gangadhar killed his father suspecting that he had an affair with a family member," the inspector said.
