Madurai schoolboy found dead in graveyard

CHENNAI: A 16-year-old schoolboy was found dead in a graveyard near Melur in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. Police said the boy, M Vineeth of Aatukulam, might have been strangled by someone.
Vineeth was studying in a private school in Madurai. His father, Murugan, is a daily wage earner.
The boy left home in the morning. When he did not return home, his family members began to search for him and found him dead in Selvi Nagar graveyard.
On being alerted, a police team rushed to the spot and conducted inquiries. The boy’s private part was found slightly damaged.
The body has been sent to a government hospital for postmortem. A case was registered under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the IPC.
A detailed inquiry was under way to find out the motive behind the murder.
