We’d Love The New Hyundai Kona N To Look Like This

Not long after a Hyundai Kona N prototype was spied during testing near the Nurburgring, we’ve found this convincing rendering of the sporty crossover.

Given how well received the i30 N and Veloster N have been over the last couple of years, it’s hardly a surprise that Hyundai is rapidly expanding its family of ‘N’ branded models and thanks to the compact size of the Kona, it could be one of the most exciting to drive.

This rendering from KKS Studio depicts the vehicle in the N division’s customary color of Performance Blue and complete with a host of red accents. As the Kona N will arrive with the regular facelifted model, it will look quite different than Kona models you’ll currently find on public roads. The new design includes a set of re-designed LED headlights and daytime running lights while also including an enlarged grille.

Elsewhere, we can see a host of aggressive parts inspired by those of the i30 N and Veloster N, such as enlarged front air intakes, red trimmings, silver and black wheels, and red brake calipers.

It is understood the Hyundai Kona N will have the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine as other ‘N’ models, producing 246 hp in standard form and spruced up to deliver 271 with the available Performance Pack. The new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that recently premiered in the 2020 Veloster N will be available, as should a six-speed manual. Power will be sent through the front wheels via an e-LSD.

The Hyundai Kona N, as well as the rest of the facelifted Kona range, could be unveiled as early as July.

Note: The Kona N seen here is an independently made illustration that is neither related to nor endorsed by Hyundai
