NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading on a mixed note in Tuesday's session.

Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 4.85 per cent) , IndusInd Bank (up 1.67 per cent) , IDFCBANK (up 1.06 per cent) , Federal Bank (up 0.86 per cent) , Axis Bank (up 0.16 per cent) and Bandhan Bank (up 0.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While RBLBANK (down 2.89 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (down 1.77 per cent) , State Bank of India (down 1.21 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (down 0.68 per cent) , HDFC Bank (down 0.19 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 0.19 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.54 per cent up at 20068.55 around 11:50AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 64.40 points at 9890.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 226.17 points at 33529.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Tata Power, SBI, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda, IDFC First Bank Ltd., BHEL, PNB and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
