‘Snowflake’ Is A Much Sought After White On Red Honda S2000 With 21k Miles

Prices of Honda S2000s have been on the rise in recent years, and a gorgeous 2001 example from Houston, Texas, has just been listed for sale on Facebook.

While the listing is on the private S2000 Marketplace group, we have the details and if you’re in the market for an iconic Japanese sports car that is bound to continue to gain value in the coming years, this could be the one for you.

This S2000 has a lot of things going for it. For starters, it is painted in Gran Prix White (or GPW for S2Kers), a rare color on the S2000, even more when it’s combined with the red leather interior. Furthermore, it only has just a touch over 21,000 miles (33,796 km) on the clock. As for the asking price, it stands at $29,000.

The seller states she purchased the car from the original owner, who gifted his wife the car for her 50th birthday back in 2001. Nicknamed ‘Snowflake,’ the car was well cared for and routinely waxed to keep it looking brand new. It was involved in a minor accident just one month after being delivered, but was repaired with genuine OEM parts.

According to the seller:

“The previous owner was stopped at a red light and was hit by a young girl who wasn’t paying attention. It was a low speed accident. The car was hit around the rear passenger taillight area. The car was taken to same Honda dealership it was bought from for the repairs. The previous owner’s husband fought with insurance to replace everything that was damaged with all OEM parts as he did not want any body filler/bondo on the car. He believes that body filler/bondo would crack or look bad over time. My personal preference would’ve been to fix the original parts but that’s what the previous owner decided to do. However, the repair was done very well. It’s been 19 years since the accident and you can see the condition of the car.”

This being an AP1-generation S2000, it is powered by that crazy 9,000-rpm 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated VTEC four-cylinder with 240 hp and 153 lb-ft (208 Nm) of torque, funneled to the rear wheels courtesy of a six-speed manual transmission with no electronic aids – so you’re on your own if you get all Mustang-y over it.

It’s quite hard to find low-mileage S2000s nowadays, particularly ones in white with a red cabin. In 2018, a similar white AP1 S2000 sold on eBay for $26,100, and prices have only increased since then. The seller, who we talked to, said that “if the car doesn’t sell, I will eventually put it on BringaTrailer where the winning buyer will have to pay a 5% fee on top of the final bid”.

We think Honda S2000 prices will continue to rise in the immediate future for pristine, low mileage examples, possibly more so for early and late model years, as well as for rarer color combinations like this one and the special edition CR. Remember, what could seem overpriced today might sound like a lost bargain tomorrow.
