Self-reliant India Is Based On Four “I”s: Narendra Modi
His address comes in the wake of easing of restrictions across the country during lockdown 5.0.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday underscored his government's vision of "Atma Nirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India)" and maintained that it will be based on five "I"s -- "Intent, inclusion, investment infrastructure and innovation". PM Modi also called for the corporate leaders to take a vow in order to make India self-sufficient while addressing the annual session of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). His address comes in the wake of easing of restrictions across the country during lockdown 5.0.
“Corona has pushed us back but India has pushed back as well after the lockdown and entered Unlock Phase 1. As a great part of the economy has been opened up and more will open after June 8,” stated Modi while addressing the session through video conference. Modi also congratulated the industry body on completing 125 years of the organisation as he made his first major speech on the Indian economy since the announcement of Unlock 1. He also stated, “As industry leaders, you would have questions about the government’s future course of action. Getting the economy back on track is among one of our highest priorities.”
PM Modi also maintained that India will tide over the coronavirus pandemic and will get back on track with the government’s decisive policies. Exuding a lot of confidence on the Indian economy bouncing back he stated, “I have immense faith in our country’s capabilities and crisis management. I trust India’s talent and technology, its innovation and intellect. Above all, I deeply trust the farmers, MSME’s, entrepreneurs, workforce and on industry leaders of this nation.”
The Prime Minister said for his government, reforms meant having the courage of taking bold decisions and then ensuring that it is implemented in a time-bound manner. He opined that reforms were not random or scattered and are were carefully planned and integrated. "We have been working continuously to create a favourable ecosystem for investment and business," he maintained.
