NEW DELHI: Shares of Tata Power Company Ltd. traded 3.29 per cent up in Tuesday's trade at 11:34AM (IST). Around 1,714,424 shares changed hands on the counter.

The scrip opened at Rs 41.05 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 42.25 and Rs 40.55, respectively, in the session so far. Shares of the company of Tata Power Company Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 74.05 and a 52-week low of Rs 27.0.

Total market cap of the Tata Power Company Ltd. stood at Rs 11021.95 crore at the time of writing this report.

The company said it has completed the acquisition of 51 per cent stake in TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPCODL) for Rs 178.5 crore.

Key Financials
The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 6620.8 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2020, down 6.37 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 7071.03 crore and down 8.43 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 7230.24 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 402.59 crore, up 599.18 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

Shareholding pattern
As of 31-Mar-2020, DIIs held 13.2 per cent stake in the firm, while foreign institutional investors held 18.62 per cent and the promoters 37.22 per cent.


Valuation ratio
According to BSE data, the stock traded at a P/E multiple of 10.99 and a price-to-book ratio of 0.5. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
